Sydney NSW is the largest city in Australia and has so much to offer both the Australian and international tourist. From family fun to a romantic night for two, Sydney Australia has it all.
For the family there are major attractions like Taronga Zoological Park. Opened in 1916 on the shores of Sydney Harbour Taronga Zoo features over 2,000 animals on a 33 hectare (75 acre) site. Taronga Zoo receives over 1.2 million visitors a year, and just about every one is catered for with several cafes and restaurants and tour information available in many foreign languages.
Sydney Harbour is home to two of the world's most famous landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Sydney Harbour Bridge has a museum located in the Southern pylon and a lookout at the top which offers stunning Sydney Harbour and Sydney City views. Guided walking tours across the top of the bridge span are available for those who don't mind heights!
On the other side of Circular Quay is Bennelong Point home to the Sydney Opera House. Work began on the Opera House in 1959 it was opened 14 years later in 1973. The Sydney Opera House is about to undergo a major refit and upgrade under the eye of original designer Jern Utzon. Tours are available and of course you can always take in a show.
At night Sydney is the place to be. Movies, live theatre, cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and the casino, there is something for everybody. For dining out Sydney offers just about every choice from the cosmopolitan cafes of Paddington to world class restaurants. Food styles cover just about every nationality and modern Australian cuisine. While at Rose Bay there are several great restaurants nearby including Catalinas and Doyle's Seafood Restaurant - the first seafood restaurant in Australia.
